SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH- Detectives assigned to the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Special Victims Unit arrested a 57-year-old registered sex offender Saturday on allegations of sexual assault of a woman.
At approximately 7:20 am, Salt Lake City police officers responded to a report of a sexual assault in the 2300 block of West North Temple.
The victim and suspect would not be related, according to investigators. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital for a sexual assault forensic exam.
Detectives booked Gregory Bane into the Salt Lake County Metropolitan Jail on one count of forcible sodomy and two counts of forcible sexual abuse.
