The 34-year-old man abused his latest victim after threatening her with a knife in the manufacturing town
Ertzaintza agents arrested a 34-year-old man on Tuesday accused of sexually abusing a woman last Sunday in Barakaldo, whom he also threatened with a knife. The arrested person is accused of a total of seven crimes against sexual freedom perpetrated in the last four months, specifically five in the aforementioned manufacturing town and two in Sestao. Some of his victims are minors.
After the complaint last Sunday, the police investigations allowed to identify the alleged perpetrator of said criminal action, a serial sex offender who would be involved in several similar crimes registered in the area in recent months.
The Ertzaintza established a search device in order to locate the suspect that culminated in his arrest. His ‘modus operandi’ in all cases consisted of approaching the victims in the street and in broad daylight, among whom is a minor, with the aim of touching them of a sexual nature.
The circumstance occurs that on the occasions in which some of the complainants offered resistance, the assailant was very aggressive both with them and with their companions. In addition to acts of a sexual nature, the man had previously been arrested on more than twenty-five occasions by the Ertzaintza for his involvement in crimes of another type.
Specifically, he is accused of threats, theft, assault and robbery with violence, carried out in most cases in those same Biscayan towns. Once the police proceedings were completed, the arrested person was transferred this Wednesday before the Judicial Authority, which decreed his admission to the Basauri prison.
