I got scammed about a year ago because I didn’t double-check a very obviously fake website.
I’ve changed all passwords, added two-factor authentications to everything I could and deleted payment methods from everything I could remember could be related to that account (let’s call it Account A). I hadn’t been worried anymore for a while.
This week I recieved an e-mail from Bestbuy (generic scam) and a subscription to the newsletter of a magazine from a different country.
Today, on Account B, I received an e-mail cancelling my subscription to Audible. I didn’t even remember I had one (if it had any payment methods added they’re already cancelled or protected). E-mail DOES look legit, from @audible.com.
I went into Amazon (that I haven’t checked in months, because aI don’t use Amazon anymore, and I deleted all payment methods the first time I had these problems) and my account was blocked for suspicious activity.
So I’m kind of freaking out, because there’s probably not much to worry about, but I don’t know if the e-mails were linked or if now my Account B (which was my ‘safe’ account) is also compromised.
What could be happening? And what extra steps could I take?
