Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force on 10 September arrested the sixth and last shooter involved in the murder of singer Sidhu Mooosewala. The police also unraveled a plan to kill actor Salman Khan at the behest of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The arrested has been identified as Deepak Mundi, who along with his two aides were arrested from the Indo-Nepal Border in West Bengal, while they were attempting to flee to Nepal. The operation was carried out jointly by the AGTF along with Delhi Police and Central agencies.
With the latest arrests all sharpshooters involved in the Sidhu Moosewala murder have now been arrested. Punjab Police claimed that they have also unraveled the modus operandi behind Moosewala’s murder. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that Deepak Mudi, and his two other aides, Kapil Pandit and Rajinder alias Joker, were nabbed from near Indo-Nepal checkpoint in the area of Kharibari Police Station in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, according to a news report.
With these three arrests, the total number of people arrested in the Moosewala Murder case has reached 23, while two shooters identified as Manpreet Singh alias Manu Kussa and Jagroop Singh alias Roopa were killed in a police encounter in Bhakna village of Amritsar. Other shooters, who were arrested earlier, have been identified as Priyavrat Fauji, Kashish and Ankit Sersa.
Yadav said that after killing Moosewala, both Mundi and Kapil had constantly changed their locations across Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP and West Bengal on the directions of Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, who is the main conspirator in the case. He said Brar had promised to get Mundi and Kapil settled in Dubai using fake passports which they were supposed to receive in Nepal or Thailand.
The preliminary interrogation of Kapil Pandit revealed that after he jumped parole in 2021 he was then approached by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang through Sampat Nehra and Goldy Brar to kill actor Salman Khan,” said the DGP.
As a result, gangster Sachin Thapan has been detained in Azerbaijan, and will soon be extradited to India.
