I was approached by a “sports better” to cash a check for $60,000 at Federal Credit Union, that it had been “made in my name” and I needed to bring my ID and go along with them, plus $3,000 for “fees.”
Obviously this was a scam as online sports betting is illegal in my state, and these websites wouldn’t be sending a check.
Can someone explain what would have happened had I “cashed the check?” Or would I have just been robbed at gunpoint for $3,000🤠
